Annabelle: Creation is a prequel to Annabelle (2014) and reveals the
origin story of the haunted doll Annabelle. Set in the 1950s, the story follows
a dollmaker and his wife who are grieving the tragic death of their daughter
Annabelle. Years later, they open their home to a group of orphaned girls and a
nun, hoping to do a good deed.
However, one of the girls, Janice,
discovers a locked room and a mysterious porcelain doll hidden inside. When the
doll is unleashed, it becomes a vessel for a demonic entity, bringing
supernatural terror to everyone in the house. Annabelle: Creation delves into
the dark beginnings of the cursed doll and sets the stage for the horrors that
follow in the Conjuring Universe.
