The Shallows tells the story of Nancy, a medical student who travels to a remote beach in Mexico—a place once visited by her late mother—to surf and find peace. While surfing alone, Nancy is attacked by a massive great white shark and becomes stranded on a small rock formation, just a short distance from shore. However, the shark keeps circling, making it nearly impossible for her to swim back. With limited resources and a severe injury, Nancy must rely on her intelligence, courage, and medical training to survive the ordeal before time and strength run out—and the predator strikes again.
