 The Babadook is a psychological horror film that follows Amelia, a widowed mother still grieving the tragic death of her husband. She struggles to raise her emotionally troubled son, Samuel, who is plagued by fear and violent outbursts.  One night, Samuel discovers a mysterious pop-up book titled "Mister Babadook," which tells the tale of a shadowy, top-hat-wearing monster that knocks three times before entering a home—and possessing its inhabitants. Soon after reading the book, strange and terrifying events begin to occur. Amelia herself starts to unravel mentally, and it becomes unclear whether the Babadook is a supernatural entity or a manifestation of suppressed grief and trauma. The film explores the dark corners of the human psyche, motherhood, and the consequences of unprocessed emotional pain.
