 Poltergeist tells the terrifying story of the Freeling family, who move into a new suburban home only to experience a series of disturbing paranormal events. Objects begin to move on their own, strange noises fill the house, and their young daughter Carol Anne begins speaking to voices through the static of the television. Soon, Carol Anne is abducted by a malevolent spirit into another dimension. The family turns to a team of paranormal investigators and a spiritual medium in a desperate attempt to rescue her. They discover that the house was built over a former cemetery, and the restless souls buried beneath it are now haunting the living—bringing with them chaos, terror, and a battle for the soul of a child.
