 "มาเลฟิเซนต์" เป็นภาพยนตร์แฟนตาซีจากดิสนีย์ ออกฉายในปี 2014 นำแสดงโดย แองเจลินา โจลี ในบทของนางฟ้าผู้ทรงพลัง มาเลฟิเซนต์ เป็นการเล่าเรื่อง เจ้าหญิงนิทรา จากมุมมองของตัวร้ายที่หลายคนเคยเข้าใจผิดมาเลฟิเซนต์เป็นนางฟ้าที่อาศัยอยู่ในดินแดนป่ามหัศจรรย์ชื่อว่า "มัวร์" ซึ่งเธอเคยมีหัวใจอ่อนโยนและบริสุทธิ์ เธอเคยตกหลุมรักมนุษย์ชื่อ "สเตฟาน" แต่เขากลับทรยศเธอเพราะอยากได้อำนาจและกลายเป็นราชาด้วยความแค้น มาเลฟิเซนต์จึงสาปลูกสาวของเขา คือ เจ้าหญิงออโรร่า ว่าในวันเกิดครบรอบ 16 ปี เธอจะถูกเข็มจักรเย็บผ้าทิ่มนิ้วและหลับใหลไปตลอดกาล แต่เมื่อเวลาผ่านไป มาเลฟิเซนต์กลับเฝ้าดูและผูกพันกับออโรร่าอย่างลับ ๆ จนรู้สึกรักเหมือนลูกแท้ ๆสุดท้าย คำสาปไม่ได้ถูกถอนด้วยจูบของเจ้าชาย แต่ด้วย ความรักแท้ของมาเลฟิเซนต์เองที่บริสุทธิ์และจริงใจ

The movie reimagines the classic Sleeping Beauty tale from the perspective of the villain, Maleficent.Maleficent is a powerful fairy who lives in the peaceful Moors, a magical forest realm. As a young fairy, she falls in love with a human boy named Stefan. But when Stefan betrays her in order to become king, Maleficent is heartbroken and full of rage.To get revenge, she curses Stefan’s newborn daughter, Aurora, saying she will fall into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. But as Aurora grows, Maleficent secretly watches over her and starts to care for the girl. Over time, she realizes that she loves Aurora like a daughter and tries to undo the curse.In the end, it is Maleficent’s true love, not a prince’s kiss, that breaks the curse — showing that love doesn’t always have to be romantic.
