the Storm Directed
by Hirokazu Kore-eda, After the Storm tells the story of Ryota, a
once-acclaimed novelist who now works as a private detective and struggles with
gambling debts. Following the death of his father, Ryota tries to reconnect
with his aging mother, ex-wife, and young son. When a typhoon traps them
together overnight, unresolved feelings surface. This touching drama explores
family, regret, and the small chances life gives us to begin again.
