Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
follows the story of the notorious outlaw Star-Lord (who, ironically, is almost
unknown across the galaxy). After stealing an Orb from an ancient temple, he
betrays his boss Yondu, who originally sent him on the mission. However, the
Orb turns out to be a powerful artifact sought after by Ronan of the Kree, who
intends to use it to destroy the planet Xandar. This sets off an intergalactic
manhunt for Peter Quill, pursued by Gamora — an assassin sent by Ronan — as
well as the bounty hunter duo Rocket and Groot, who are after the reward Yondu
has placed on Quill’s head.
