A story about a high school boy who discovers his popular classmate, Sakura Yamauchi, is secretly dying from a terminal pancreatic illness. He finds her "Disease Coexistence Journal" at a hospital, and this shared secret brings the two very different people together as they spend her remaining time living life to the fullest, exploring themes of friendship, mortality, and living in the moment.
