ในการประกวดสารคดีรางวัลนายอินทร์อะวอร์ด ประจำปี พ.ศ.๒๕๕๓ ได้พิจารณาแล้วมีความเห็นร่วมกันว่า ผลงานสารคดีเรื่อง ไปเป็นเจ้าชาย…

 ในแคว้นศัตรู มีความโดดเด่น ถึงพร้อมด้วยเนื้อหาทั่ลึกซึ้งและแปลกใหม่ เป็นการเปิดประเด็นใหม่ทางมานุษยวิทยาสำแดงออกถึงการมีวัฒนธรรม

 ประเพณี และการละเล่นกีฬาพื้นถิ่นของคนพื้นบ้านในประเทสเพื่อนบ้านที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นศัตรูทว่าปัจจุบันเมื่อผู้เขียนได้เข้าไปคลุกคลี สัมผัส

  และเรียนรู้ ด้วย การละเล่น--เตะเล่นๆจนช่ำชองเชี่ยวชาญ แล้วจึงเห็นถึงหัวใจ เข้าใจ และเห็นถึงดวงตาของมิตรภาพ กระทั่งก่อให้เกิดการละ

 อคติอันมีอยู่แต่เดิมลง โดยผู้เขียนได้นำเอาวัตถุดิบและข้อมูลเหล่านั้นมาเขียนขึ้นด้วยชั้นเชิงและลีลาของภาษาที่อ่านง่าย ไม่ปรุงแต่ง

 แต่แทรกอารมณ์ขันเป็นระยะๆประกอบกับการดำเนินเรื่องที่รัดกุม มุ่งสู่ประเด็นหลักของเรื่อง ทำให้เรื่องนี้มีเอกภาพ และอ่านสนุก ชวนติดตาม

 ตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ โดยมีจุดด้อยหลักตรงชื่อเรื่องที่ฟังดูไม่เป็นแนวสารคดี แต่ที่สุดแล้วนั้นคือการท้าทายผู้อ่านและกรรมการจนต้องมีมติเป็นเอกฉันท์

 ให้ไปเป็นเจ้าชาย...ในแคว้นศัตรูโดยคามิน คมนีย์ เป็นสารคดีรางวัลยอดเยี่ยมนายอินทร์อะวอร์ดประจำปีพุทธศักราช ๒๕๕๓

In the deliberation for the Nai In Award for Documentary Writing, 2010 (B.E. 2553), the judging committee unanimously agreed that the documentary Going to Be a Prince… in Enemy Territory stands out as an exceptional work. It is rich in depth and originality, opening a new anthropological perspective by vividly portraying the culture, traditions, and indigenous sports and games of people in a neighboring country that was once considered an enemy.

 Through close interaction, firsthand experience, and learning—beginning with casually joining in the local game and eventually gaining skill and understanding—the author comes to grasp the true spirit, heart, and eyes of friendship. This process gradually dissolves long-held prejudices. Drawing upon these raw materials and insights, the author crafts the narrative with refined technique and an accessible, unembellished style, interspersed with gentle humor throughout.

 The storytelling is tight and focused, consistently steering toward the core theme, resulting in a coherent and engaging work that captivates readers from beginning to end. Its main shortcoming lies in the title, which does not immediately sound like a documentary. However, this ultimately becomes a challenge posed to readers and judges alike, leading to a unanimous decision to award Going to Be a Prince… in Enemy Territory by Kamin Kameny the Outstanding Documentary Award of the Nai In Awards, 2010.
