*My Sweet Orange Tree* tells the story of a young boy named **Zezé**, a child with a vivid imagination filled with beautiful dreams. He is intelligent but was born into a poor family with many siblings. Because he is mischievous, stubborn, and often gets into trouble, he is frequently punished harshly. This leads him to believe that no one truly loves him and that he is an unwanted burden in his family.
As a result, Zezé creates his own private world—a world of dreams where he can find happiness in his own way. He does not have many friends, as people see him as a troublesome child who causes problems for the neighbors, leaving everyone tired and annoyed with him.
Later, Zezé’s family moves to a new house, where he discovers a small orange tree that can talk. This tree becomes his new and closest friend—someone who understands him, talks with him, and keeps him company, especially when he is confined at home and not allowed to go outside. Through this friendship, Zezé finds great joy, and his imaginary world becomes bright and full of the wonder of childhood.
However, before long, he must face the painful reality that his dearest friend will leave him forever. His once-bright world suddenly grows dark, and he is left with deep sorrow and heartbreak over this loss.
